Message Q: Are there any locations within the vehicle which should/can be inspected for nests, acorns, etc..?

Details:

The following is regarding a 92TT which has remained stationary for the past few years. The vehicle is stored in a driveway (residential suburb in MD) under a locked car cover. The vehicle is started whenever I am in the area, run for a bit, and then re-covered. It is rarely moved.

Recently, a neighbor mentioned noticing several squirrels coming/going under the vehicle on a daily basis. Upon returning to the area, the car cover was removed in order to look underneath. Noticeable traces of infestation were not found. (The engine shields were not removed, so any traces may simply be hidden from plain view.)

Before starting the engine, it would be great to confirm the squirrels/remnants are not positioned to damage the engine/vehicle. (There are no modifications to the vehicle.) I have read about various mouse/insect issues over the years, but have been unable to find the relevant threads. A few mention air box/filter issues so these items will be inspected.

Are there any locations within the vehicle which should/can be inspected for nests, acorns, etc..?

Also, the goal is to remove the squirrels and prepare the vehicle for winter storage.

Any ideas/recommendations, including prevention of future infestations, will be appreciated.

Thanks
